Breakout and Backchecking

Diagrams

Description

Starts with D3 skating over center ice and dumping puck. 1 of the D go into retreive the puck the other is in front to of the net. D decides what side to break out of both wingers have to read the play and be ready on the boards for a pass. Center has to read the D to which side he will breakout and time to be ready for a pass. If winger gets pass he then must make a pass to center before the blue line. Vice versa if center receives pass from the D he must give pass to the winger before blue line. After winger or center cross the blue line he makes a pass to the weak side winger ahead before offensive blue line.

Notes: Coach blows whistle after the shot and rebounds have being taken on net. Players regroup by circling out of zone and back in breaking out of that zone with puck that the Goaltender put behind the net.
