Diagrams

Description

1. Pass, Chase & Shoot: X passes to O and skates to O's position. O1 must pass to O2's position and do likewise before X reaches his initial position. Last position receiving pass puckhandles and goes in for shot on net.
2. Skating + Passing: Players in 2 groups. Player X skates briefly with puck looking for O to start skating. Once O is in motion X makes a pass to O and continues across ice to the end of O's line. O continues skating with puck and likewise looks for X to be in motion before passing the puck and then proceeds to the back of X's line.
3. Dump and chase: Players in 2 groups at the blue line. Coach dumps puck in the corner or behind the net while other coach ensures puck does not enter other zone. On the "go" signal a player from each group races in to retrieve the puck. Whomever gets the puck first tries to go for a shot on net while other player tries to steel or gain possession of the puck. Once goalie receives a shot on goal, next pair of players start.
4. Learning Angles: One player starts behind the net with puck and skates up the boards. While doing so another player stationed at the blue line skates along cones with the intent the 2 players will meet simultaneously at the last cone. Stick check until blue line is reached. Alternate lines half way through station time.
5. Shooting (forehand and backhand)
Players line up in front of boards with a puck practicing forward shooting and backhand shooting (half way through allotted time). Encourage low stance and full follow through with sweep shot. If some are able, challenge to lift puck on the backhand.
6. Relay race: Skaters puckhandle through the pylons forwards, then pivot and stickhandle backwards to line and hand puck off to next skater.
