Description

D start on knees. Forwards line up across hash marks as necessary.

Coach shoots puck on net as forwards crash in. D need to jump up off of knees and block out forwards as goalie makes save and covers up puck as necessary. D are NOT to look backwards to see where puck is. D should focus on where forwards are going to. The moment the D are to turn around, forwards gain advantage of sneaking in and shooting/stealing puck.

If puck is played behind the net or into the corner, the drill continues 3-on-2 until a goal is scored, D clear zone, or coach blows whistle.

If coach scores on shot, goalie may be instructed to do an exercise or drill of coaches choosing.
