Description

Line up D at center ice with pucks
Divide forwards into 2 groups and have each group line up at the blueline

D initiates drill by passing to one of the forwards. Forward receives pass and opposite forward simulates breaking out of the zone. Forward with puck hits breaking forward with a pass. D pivots in direction of breaking forward and plays out 1 v 1 down the ice.

Variation
- Have forwards line up at hash marks to more closely simulate a breakout
