This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
Line everyone up as shown with all the D split up in the 2 corners and only 6 forwards are needed so the remaining players will be doing another drill at the other end of the ice.
On the coaches whistle D1 starts drill by doing side steps from the boards along the goal line to the center of the circle then breaks forward towards the coach with the pucks.
Coach passes puck to D1 and he stops and skates backwards with the puck behind the net, at the same time F1 breaks down the boards into breakout position. D1 comes out from behind the net and does a break out pass to F1, once that pass has been made F5 breaks towards the front of the net and D1 goes to cover the man in front of the net.
F1 skates out and around the dot in front of the coach while F5 and D1 fight for position in front of the net. F1 takes a low deflectable shot where F5 tries to tip shot past the goalie. While this portion is going on the same drill starts on the other side.
D men go back to the lines they came from while F players go to a line they did not start in.
Notes: Very important all players pay attention because timing is everything in keeping the flow of drills moving.
