Stick Checks

Description

Review stick check. Play ringette. Have players turn their sticks upside down and use butt-end of stick in the ring. Use stick checks to take the ring from opponent.

Introduce Stick checks.
1. Poke check - Stick is held with one hand, perform a quick extension of the forearm to poke the puck.
2. Sweep check - the hockey stick and blade is on the ice, sweep in a circular motion.
3. Stick lift - lift the shaft of the stick near it's heal and compete for possession of the puck.
