Obstacle course special

Diagrams

Description

O1 & O2 are positioned on edge of center circle.
Coaches are positioned right inside blue lines

X1 and X4 start drill simultaneously. Make as many passes as possible to O player while pivoting around circle. X1/X4 will come up boards and make deek around obstacle (stick, cone, tire, whatever we have).

After deek, player will watch for coach and here is where decision making comes into play.
Option #1 - If coaches stick is on the ice, give a quick pass and receive puck back and go in on net.
Option #2 - if coaches stick is NOT on the ice, player skates around cone at bottom of circle and then looks for coaches stick on the ice again. If it's down, give a quick pass and get it back. If it's up, rush in on net and shoot.

Notes: O1/O2 switch with other players after 5-6 times.

Forcing players to make decision mimics game time situations and challenges them further to develop their skills by keeping their heads up.

Coaches feel free to move around to make the players look for you.
