Catch A Stick

Drill Preview

Description

Players stand 5-6 feet apart. They hold their stick in one hand with the butt end on the ice and the blade in the air.
They crouch slightly.
On the coaches whistle, they skate forward to their partners stick and try and grab the stick before it falls to the ground.
Make sure the players are slightly crouching and not standing straight up.
The objective is for the players to develope a quick start.
