St. Louis Drill Variation

Diagrams

Description

Continuous Flow drill
-X1 and O1 leave without the puck on the whistle
-X1 curls across the ice from the far face off dot
-O2 passes to X1 and skates toward his pass
-X1 touch passes the puck into space for O2 and swings wide along the boards
-O2 skates onto the touch pass and moves the puck wide to X1(hard pass on a 45 degree angle: do not stretch out pass receiver with a soft pass
-X1 takes the puck up ice for a shot and O2 follows X1 up ice and curls across the ice to get a pass from X3

Notes: Fun drill that gets the legs going and emphasizes passing. Advance the drill by adding a line at center that time the wide swing with a middle screen. The low play who picks up the touch pass then passes the puck to the thrid player on the middle swing who immediately moves the puck wide and becomes the swing wide player the side. The low player moves to the center line after passing to the middle.
