Drill 1

Diagrams     

Description

Two lines set up on each side of the rink.
Pucks at center ice.
On whistle skaters race to center ice, stop and return to goal line skate backwards. Sketers then race to the pucks.
First one to the pucks becomes the shooter, second becomes D.
Shooter will use quickness to break away from D and take shot.
D anticipates the angle and stops the shot by either blocking the shot, poke check or body contact.
