Side to Side 1v1 Battle w/ Shot

Diagrams

Description

Drill starts with a Forward and a Defender in front of net.

Note: Defender plays with top end of stick on ice (i.e. no Blade on ice)

X1 makes pass to F1, and F1 attempts to get good shot away on net while D1 is getting good body position and defending F1 from shooting/scoring

After first shot attempt, F1 and D1 direct attention to X2 who makes a pass to F1 and same drill ensues.

After 2 shots, everyone rotates clockwise. F1 goes to X1, X1 goes to 2, etc.

Notes: Defender plays with stick upside down. Point of drill is for defender to get in front of forward preventing him from shooting and Forward getting in position to get good shots on goal.

It's important for F1 to get into a good passing lane to receive pass from either X1 or X2
