Quadrants

Description
- Separate the players according to skill level (8-9 players per quadrant).
- Many variations to this drill and the pylons/discs are not always necessary:
- Tight-turns: player completes 4 tight-turns and then takes a shot at his net.
- Backwards tight-turns: same as above.
- Forward to backward tight-turns: same as above.
- Follow your pass: (one player stands at each pylon/disc and you pass to the person in front of you - last player takes puck for shot.
- 1-on-1: use two pylons/discs and have one player stationed at each pylon/disc. Place one near the boards at the redline and one tight to the center ice faceoff dot. Player in corner passes to a player waiting at 1st pylon (boards). That player then passes to the player at the 2nd pylon (center ice) who becomes the puck carrier on the 1-on-1. The defenceman is waiting at the blueline for the player to attack. After you are the offensive player you then become the defensive player.
Race to Score: Players start in corner but one player starts at redline. Player in corner skates as fast as he can to the redline and places the puck on the player's stick. That player then goes for a breakway. As soon as the first player reaches the redline the next player in line goes.
- You can have competitions by having coaches record the number of goals in each net...winning team gets to relax while the other 3 teams suffer the consequences.
