Description

Players lined up at blue line on boards

Coach is outside the blue line with pucks

Dman skates down to retrieve perfect dump from coach (outside in retrieve).
Dman moves up and chips off glass to neutral zone.
Dman pivots inside and gets pass from coach, pivots and excels behind net for board side escape turn.
Dman excels behind net and passes to O1 coming down the boards.
O1 turns up and comes back through NZ 1on1.
Dman follows and Gaps up and plays 1on1.

Notes: This is a great drill to work on the fundamental skills all defensemen need to possess. I use this every year at try-outs to see what defensemen have the fundamental skills in place to play AAA hockey.
