Description

On the whistle, the forward takes off up the ice at full speed with the puck. Defenseman must maintain gap control by only skating backwards. D man can play body on forward after the blue line and forward must stay along the boards until they are either engaged by the D man or once they have cleared the defenceman.

Progress to closing the gap as the D men increase their foot speed.
