This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
Once again this is a drill that takes every player on the ice to be focused and disciplined and focused
Line players up as shown along with tires.
On coaches whistle he dumps a puck either on net or to either side of then net, mix it up to keep the goalies on their toes. If he shoots on goal the goalie makes the save and moves the puck behind the net.
The second the puck hits the goalie or the back boards( depending on where the coach dumps the puck) then the first 2 players in line race to the puck and try to gain possession of the puck.
Once the first 2 players reach the puck the next 2 players in line rush to the front of the net and fight for position with the player from the left of the coach becoming the offensive player and the players from the right becoming defensive. ( This is only for the pair going to the front of the net and not the first 2 players).
The players fighting for the puck must pass behind the net and outside the tires, if the player without the puck takes possession he must then pass back behind the net. Once clear possession is established that player must skate outside the tires, outside the circles and take a shot that can be tipped or deflected.
The entire time the players behind the net are fighting for puck possession the players in front of the net are fighting for position ( do not just stand still)
Once shot is taken one of the 2 players from in front of the net retrieves the loose puck and all 4 players return to the lines making sure to switch lines each time through
Notes: Aggressive play and concentration
