This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
Line up as shown, drill starts when coach either dumps puck in the zone or shoots on net so goalies must pay attention.
D men retrieve puck and do a crisp breakout using the back of the net as a shield. There will be several breakouts in a row so change up the type you choose to do.
D man can skate puck behind net and come out on the other side and make breakout pass himself, he could stop behind net and go back the way he started or he could pass D to D
All forwards must pay attention to what the D man is doing so they are in the proper position for the breakout pass should it come to their side.
Once the breakout is completed the center will pass puck back to coach who will again pick one of his options and puck the puck back into play.
The 3 forwards must clear the blue line before returning back in for the next breakout, the forwards must also use power stops to change direction ( do not make looping turns)
This continues until coach blows whistle and switches to next line
