3 Man Wave

Diagrams     

Description

1) Half of team in each end of ice, opposite corners.
2) Pucks in each end.
3) On whistle, 3 players from each end, take off with puck, following each other up sideboard.
4) Player 1 stays along sideboard, goes past nearest cone on far blueline and takes shot on goal.
5) Player 2 follows player 1 along sideboard, goes around cone in middle of ice on blueline and takes shot on goal.
6) Player 3 follows player 2 along sideboard, goes around farest cone on blueline and takes shot on goal.
7) After shot, players go to the corner.
8) Objective is to have 3 shots in rapid succession forcing the goalie to move laterally from left to right to make saves.
9) Players should work on shooting in stride and taking wrist or snap shots.
10) If timing of shots is off on goalie, coach can vary the skaters path and have first player go to farest cone, second player to middle cone and third player to nearest cone.
