Description

A great drill to teach backchecking (filtering) and defensive responsibilities. Also, it forces offensive team to find creative ways to score with offensive zone play not on the rush.

Rules of Drill:
1. Drill starts on coach's whistle.
2. Offensive puck carrier (Black C) must gain back of net before starting offensive play. The game is live 5v5 hockey from that moment until coach's whistle.
3. Players in circle must go behind net, jockeying for position, then filter to defensive or offensive positions.
4. Defensive team becomes offensive with any turnover.

Notes: Force defensive team (especially forwards) to learn all three positional responsibilities (F1 to net front support, F2 & F3 to weak or strong side positions).

Change the number of offensive players ahead of backcheckers (ie: put an addition black forward on blueline).
