This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
This drill works on puck control , decision making , skating and shooting for the shooters
For the goalies this drill forces them to track the shooter and proper angling
Set up as shown, on the coaches whistle first skater takes off behind the net and goes to the far side corner of the net as if trying a wrap around suffer while coming to a complete hockey stop. He then takes off behind the net to do the same on the other side of the net, again after coming to a complete hockey stop he takes off behind the net and out around the tire. At any point during this sequence he can choose to shot, if he chooses to take a stuffer he must still skate the remainder of the drill at full speed.
The same thing goes on with the other net, the next player in line can not go until the player on the side he will be skating passes the tire, timing and discipline a sure players are not running into each other or shooting on goal at the same time.
Goalies must move and track the skater because as mentioned above they may shot at anytime during their cycle, the goalie must rush back to inside pipe position as soon as he has made the save because next shooter will be coming
Skaters make sure you go both to both sides
