This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
This is a progression drill to build on 2 things, the D to focus on the man and not the puck and for the F to learn puck control using their body to shield opposing players from the puck.
Drill 1 is on the bottom and runs non stop for 30 to 45 seconds
2 D & 2F line up inside a circle with no pucks, the forwards are trying to get out the back of the circle while the D plays the body the entire time. The F have no pucks but must have both hands on their stick and stick on the ice as if they are controlling a puck, the F must stay inside the circle the entire drill. The D has stick in 1 hand and is focusing on the F chest the entire time.
If the D keeps the F from escaping the F must do 25 push ups, if the F escapes the rear of the circle the D does 25 push ups, if at any time the F crosses the line of the circle the F does 25 push ups
Drill 2 is at the top and is done after working on drill 1
Basically the same drill as 1 but this time only 1 D & 1 F along with 1 puck, same rules apply with one added rule, if at anytime the D makes a play or even looks at the puck he then has to do 25 push ups
