This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
This drill works on skating , puck control, passing and deflecting shots.
Line up as shown, on the whistle first player in each line skates backwards dragging a puck. After at least 2 stick lengths make a pass back to the next player in line, continue doing 1 touch passes as you skate backwards to the goal line.
Once you reach the goal line make one last pass back to the player at the blue line and sprint out as hard as you can around the tire and head for the crease on the ice (DO NOT GO STRAIGHT AT THE GOALIE).
The player with the puck steps in over the blue line and sets up to make a pass to you as you go to the crease.
Player going to the net goes hard ( DO NOT SLOW DOWN ANTICIPATING THE PASS, MAKE THE PASSER PASS TO WHERE YOUR GOING) ,open yourself up or have your stick out in front of you so you can redirect the pass coming from the point. DO NOT TAKE POSSESSION OF THE PUCK AND SHOOT, ALL SHOTS ARE REDIRECTIONS !!!!!
Once you redirect the pass continue skating towards the crease and do a power stop, then skate backwards as hard to the blue line and pivot to forward skating to the line on the opposite side you started from.
After the player at the point makes his pass to the skater he immediately turns and grabs a puck and skates backwards starting the next group.
YOU ARE NOT DONE THE DRILL UNTIL YOUR BACK IN LINE SO DO NOT TAKE YOUR TIME GETTING THERE , SKATE HARD AND NONSTOP
