This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
This drill is a competition that works on PP & PK discipline for each function.
Rules:
The players in the box must line up even with the hash marks with the deep players on the goal line and the outer players 2 ft inside the blue lined must work to stay discipline in those general areas.
The defending player inside the circle must keep their feet inside the circle at all time, they can swing their sticks outside the circle but their feet may never leave the circle.
Set up as shown on a whistle coaches pass a puck to one of the 4 players forming the box outside the circle.and those players move the puck around as if they were on a PP, don't rush your passes be in control a draw the defender toward you.
The players inside the circle must do their best to cut off the passing lanes through the circle by using their sticks and bodies again staying in control and not running around.
The players on the outside must make a minimum of 3 passes in total before taking a shot but 1 of those passes must go through the circle and it could be more then 3 passes so do not rush just to make a play.
When the puck is passed through the circle the PK players inside the circle must try to intercept the pass, if they do they pass it back to the coach and he starts the drill over again.
If a shot is taken and the goalie makes a save the drill continues with the players on the outside looking to make the best play they can. If a goal is scored the coach then throws another puck in and drill continues.
The drill goes on until one team has scored 3 goals, that team wins so:
The losing PK players must do 20 push ups, on the other side the losing PP team must also do 20 push ups.
Rotate players and start drill again.
