Description
This drill is high paced game situation drill
Set up as shown the 3 defending players (D-C-D) are on their knees and can not stand up until the puck crosses the center ice line.
The red center dumps the puck in and the line does a standard breakout , depending on who ends up with the puck during the breakout (C or W) that players skates towards center ice and once crossing the center ice line dumps the puck in one of the 2 corners. Try to make it stay in a corner and away from the defending teams players.
The players on their knees get up and defend their zone trying to get control of the puck and out of the zone. The red players forecheck setting up offensive opportunities using the point men and setting up the triangle reading the play and moving accordingly.
Drill continues till coach blows the whistle or a goal is scored, the forechecking C & D take the place of the defending team, a new offensive line comes out and the drill starts over.
