Defensive Zone Faceoffs (win & lose)

Diagrams

Description

Black (Win): RW will be high on the right side. LD will be on the RW position for the faceoff. LW will be located next to the LD left shoulder, with a lane directly to the opponents RD. RD lines up on the LW position. Centre draws puck back to RD corner, then the RD wraps the puck around the boards to where the RW will be at the hash marks. Centre reads the play and supports RW and the puck. LW times his exit from the defensive zone and heads towards the open ice and receives a pass from the Centre. Then heads down on a breakaway.

Green (lose): LW attacks the RD. RW attacks the LD. Centre sets a small pick on the opposition C, then heads to the front of the net. LD sets a pick on the winger, then heads to the far post. RD heads to the strong side post.
