Lactic Breakaway Chase

Diagrams

Description

X1 starts with the puck, skates down to the other end and shoots. He then comes around the bottom of the circle. As he does this, the coach releases X6 to skate and shoot. X1 tries to backcheck X6. Once X6 shoots or is checked, he continues to skate around the bottom of the circle as the coach releases X2 to skate on his breakaway. X1 returns to the end of his original group. Continuous flow.

Notes: By using a release by the coaches, the coaches can dictate how close the chase will be. This is especially important when you have players operating at different skating abilities.
