Description
Divide ice into thirds using tires/cones. Place 3 players in each third. X are on offense. O are on defense. Game starts with coaching passing to any X. Closest O player forechecks puck crossing into X's zone. X moves and maintains position of the puck. X tries to make as many passes as possible across the zone to X on the other side. X can pass to players on their own side before passing across the zone, if the best option. Two O players stay in middle zone defending passing lanes w/ movement and active sticks. Objective: X makes as many successful passes across the ice as possible before O gains possession of puck.
Notes: Focus: Defense aggressive forecheck, taking away time and space. Angling the puck.
