3 stage battle drill - full ice
Drawing is a bit messy, but drill is pretty straight forward. Drill runs on both sides of the ice simultaneously
Stage 1. Forward starts with the puck in the corner, D is about a sticklength or so away. On go, forward attacks the defense, trying to beat him to the net with the puck for a shot. D keeps his body between the forward and the net, and tries to get stick on puck or stick on stick to knock the puck away.
Stage 2. After this sequence the coach in the corner passes a new puck to the defense at the blue line. The defense walks the line to move to the middle of the ice, and then lets a hard low shot go. The first forward and defense are in front of the net battling for position. The forward is trying to screen the goalie and tip the puck and look for rebounds, the defense is trying to keep the forward out of the line of vision of the goalie.
Stage 3. After the point shot, tip, screen and rebound is done, the forward release to the boards to pick up a third puck, which they will carry down the ice and go one on one vs the defense who took the point shot. Defense try to take away the middle of the ice and force the forward to go wide and then pinch them off on the boards. Forwards attack with speed and try to beat the D wide or if they give up the middle, take that instead.
Depending on numbers, sometimes F can play D and D can play F.
