3 zone 1 v 1 v 1

Diagrams

Description

3 zone 1 v 1 v 1

Set up 3 zones in 3 corners of the ice. 2 zones will have a net and a goalie. The other zone won't have a net or a goalie.

Put 3 players in each zone. The two other groups of 3 wait near the blue line.

On go, the players fight for the puck. In the first zone without the goalie, the players are simply trying to keep control of the puck, and whoever has it when they switch wins.

In the two zones with a goalie, the players are trying to score a goal.

Switch zones every 30 seconds. Players should be going full out the entire time.

Rotation is off --> no goalie zone --> Goalie Zone 1 --> Goalie zone 2 --> Off

Can use positions to separate players or any other method that works.

Encourage players to work hard when they are in the zone. Puck is live, as soon as the players enter the zone, so players should race from station to station to get an advantage.
