Description

Center ice screen tip rebound

This is a drill to get the forwards used to screening the goalie, tipping shots, and tracking down rebounds.

Doesn't require a net or a goalie.

Set up two pylons along the boards to serve as the net. Put pucks near both bluelines on the same side of the ice as the net.

Drill starts with F1 passing to D1. F1 goes to the front of the "net". D1 makes a D to D pass to D2, who shoots hard and low at the "net". F1 tries to tip the puck and then turns to the boards to find the rebound and then shoots the rebound into the "net". F1 then goes to the other side, picks up a new puck, passes to D2 and then goes back to the front of the net. D2 makes a D to D pass to D1, who shoots hard and low at the net. F1 tries to tip this shot, then turns and fires the rebound into the net. F1 goes to the end of the line and the drill continues with F2 taking a turn.

Progressions.

Add a coach near the D to take away the D to D pass or the shot so that the D need to decide whether to shoot or pass.
