Long Shot (and Rebound)

Diagrams

Description

When the coach blows
the whistle two players will skate hard towards
center ice. The player that first reaches the
center will grab a puck (on the fly) and take a
slap shot or snap shot.

The trailing player will then follow up and
pounce on the rebound and attempt to score.
This drill is also important for the goalies, as
they can work on their rebound and recovery
skills. They can steer the rebounds aside, and
they can work on their recovery skills.

Notes: The players will learn to crash the net
for rebounds, and the goalies will also get some
work.
