Description
High pace flow drill
Set up as shown, on coaches whistle X1 & O1 start drill
X1 skates at top speed with a puck while O1 is chasing X down from behind, around both tires as tight as you can. The whole drill is about the chasing player and preventing a shot
Once the skaters pass the 2nd tire the first pair on the other side starts drill again, very important that everyone is paying attention.
If the 2nd skater gets a late start he will easily be caught, id the back checking player gets a late start he will never catch player with the puck.
Once you have completed your drill get out of the way immediately and get in line on the opposite side, the chaser now becomes the shooter and the shooter becomes the chaser
Notes: Drill can be done with or without a goalie, if there is no goalie use orange pucks
