Gap Passing

Diagrams

Description

O1 starts with the puck and starts skating forward. X1 skates backwards and maintains a constant gap with O1. They attempt to make three return passes minimum before X1 reaches position X2 and O1 position O2. At that point O2 skates backwards and X2 skates forward and they repeat. They go back and forth making passes. Focus is on the gap, good pass to target, and pass reception (cushion).

Notes: For younger ages rotate passing partners so that skills are mixed.
