2 Pass Transition

Diagrams

Description

On the whistle X1 and X3 leave at the same time skating toward the player across from them. With their feet moving pass the puck, continue skating to the offside faceoff dot, transition around the dot facing the puck and receive a return pass from X2 or X4 (X2,X4 take a couple steps with the puck before passing) X1 and X3 continue to skate outside the dots driving the puck to the net shooting from the hash marks. Repeat the dril starting with X2 and X4 on the opposite side. make sure players transition both ways.

Notes: Make double touch passes through the neutral zone then transition.

Go to a 2 on 0 passer jumps into the play either getting a return pass in the slot or picking up the re-bound from a low shot to the off pad of the goalie. Add a coach to add pressure so the puck carrier has to make the decision to either pass or shoot. Emphasize the low shot before the face-off dot so there is a good angle on the puck for a rebound.
