Lineups is where you build game-day lineup sheets: lines, defense pairs, goalies, staff, scratches and officials on one printable page. Link your team or a saved roster and every player's number, name and details fill in for you.
Step 1 — Open Lineups
Go to More → Lineups, or open Coaching Tools and choose the Lineups tile. Your lineups are listed here, newest first, with a preview of each sheet.
Step 2 — Start a new lineup
Click New lineup. First choose where your players come from under Roster source → Pull players from:
- A team – uses the players and staff on one of your HockeyShare teams. Changes you make to the team show up on the sheet.
- A saved roster – a player list you keep in Lineups, no team needed. See Saved Rosters.
- Nothing — write-in only – type every name yourself.
You can change this later in Page setup.
Step 3 — Pick a template
Click a template to create your lineup from it:
- Classic Game Sheet – three forward columns, left and right defense, goalies, plus staff, not dressed and officials along the bottom.
- Pro Game Sheet – a college or junior style roster sheet with class year, hometown, previous team, stat lines, commitment logos and pronunciations.
- Forwards / Defense (Landscape) – a landscape sheet with big numbers, forwards in a 3-wide grid and defense in pairs.
- Blank – an empty Letter page.
To set your own paper size, use Or start blank: enter a Lineup name and choose Paper (Letter or A4), Orientation and Column guides, then click Create blank lineup.
Step 4 — Fill it in
The editor opens with your template on the page. Click a forwards, defense or goalie block, open the Roster tab on the left and click players to place them. Auto-fill fills the whole block in one click. Everything saves automatically.
When you're done, click Print, PDF or Share at the top. See Printing, PDF & Sharing a Lineup.
Free and Premium
- Free – keep up to 2 lineups and print them as often as you like.
- Premium – unlimited lineups and PDF export.
Free accounts see how many lineups they've used at the top of the page. Deleting a lineup frees up a spot right away.
Tips
- Make one sheet the way you like it, then use Duplicate for each game instead of starting over.
- Link your team rather than typing names. When a player's number or position changes on the team, every sheet updates.
- Had lineups under Teams? You can bring them across. See Moving Team Lineups into the New Lineups Section.
