Regroup Overspeed

Diagrams

Description

This is a regroup overspeed drill that has shared NZ ice between 2 teams. Player starts on whistle from corner with puck and travels full speed toward blue line. At blue line, player passes to their near defense who regroup passes to far defense as shown. Player continues to skate hard with crossovers at center circle to receive pass back for breakaway shot on their goalie. Next player goes when 1st defense completes regroup pass. Player finishes/waits at next corner, and defense should be rotated periodically. Players should be aware of shared NZ play (heads-up game-like environment).
Variation: after shot, have player immediately hustle towards blue line and close gap for 1v1 with next player

Notes: one-handed puck carry, passing in motion + leading passes, regroup system, full + linear crossovers, shooting in motion
One coach with goalie for feedback, others at corners and center ice for motivation, feedback, and puck collection.
