Stick Agility Drill

Description

Players to spread out in our half of the ice. have each player put their stick on the ice and stand by their stick. Players to use their sticks for each of the drills.

Drill 1: Start and Stop. All players face the same direction with their stick in front of them and at one end of their stick. Player stride to the other end of their stick and do a full stop. Players then stride back the other way and do a full stop at the end of their stick. Players to always face the same way to ensure they are stopping using both feet.

Drill 2: Players to skate forwards to the top of their stick, transition and skate backwards to the bottom of their stick then open up and skate forward again. Players to repeat pattern multiple times then switch directions.

Drill 3: Stick tag - players put their stick together with a partner and use the two sticks to chase each other around. players have to stay as close as possible to the sticks and can move in either direction around the sticks. No reaching over or jumping the sticks.
