Passing Warm Up

Diagrams

Description

Goalies in their nets. Two lines of players in opposite corners, at opposite ends of the rink with pucks. Two coaches up at the red line on opposite sides of the face-off circle. Drill works best if there is also a coach supervising each line ensuring players are paying attention and ready to go.

Drill starts with 1 player from each line (X1 and O1) leaving and skating around the face-off circle until they start to get to the top, heading up ice. 2nd player in line (X2 and O2) will pass a puck up to X1 and O1 who will receive the puck and head towards the other end of the rink. X1 and O1 will then skate with the puck and look to make a pass to the coach at the red line, who will receive the pass and pass back as the player continues to skate towards the other end of the ice. Player will receive the puck back from the coach and then go in and shoot on the goal. Once the 2nd player in line makes their pass up to X1 and O1, they can leave the line with no puck and the pattern continues.
