1 on 1 Circle Drill

Diagrams

Description

F1 and F2 leave without puck and at a good pace go around the circle using forwards crossovers. As they round the circle the next F in line passes them a puck either directly or off the boards. At the same time two D are doing backwards crossovers around center ice circle coming down around dot and closing the gap on the attacking F to play a 1 on 1.

Progression to 2 on 1 whereby the 2nd forward in line after he gives the puck to the circling F then they jump in the rush and do a 2 on 1.

Notes: Important the D get as low as they can below the Dot to work on gap control and this will depend on where the forward is. Can also progress to the D doing the full circle and taking the attacking forward coming from the opposite end.
