Continuous Drill

Diagrams

Description

Start by Coach dumping puck in and line 1 breakouts using the called breakout play without pressure; Line 2 is waiting in the neutral zone for the puck and Line 3 is in the opposite end waiting to breakout the other way. Once Line 1 executes the breakout they pass to Line 2 waiting; Line 2 then proceeds to dump the puck in and forcheck using the called forcheck play against line 3 who attempts to work the called breakout with the pressure. Once Line 3 breakouts then they pass to Line 1 who moved up to the neutral zone after the original breakout. This keeps going and coaches can blow it down to correct.

Notes: Look for early mistakes and correct early to allow time to see the adjustments made. Good for conditioning as well. Change forcheck system and breakout on the fly so they have to make quick decisions. Base the breakout on the forcheck used. Tell forcheckers what to do and see if breakout adjust.
