So lets say F1 doesnt get in there fast enough to create pressure up the wall and they go D to D or D carry behind the net. F3 neads to read this fast (anticipate) and cut off the player behind the net. Hopefully before the D can make a pass to a winger who gets over on the boards for a breakout.
Centers stay tucked in behind the winger when you are up so the middle of the ice is clear, also have your center start with the puck after the shot is made but not too early so the backcheckers have a chance. backcheckers after they shoot on the 3 on 1 must all touch goal line before they curl back and back check.
Never go below their goal line; never get sucked in whereby two of our F are low or attacking the same side. Key is to take away the other side of the ice and angle puck carrier up the wall and close them in where they have to dump it or try to thread the needle with a pass through the middle which we should pick off fairly easily.
Get puck to corner, Set up overload; have strong support; quick passes; open box; look for lanes; get puck to net and crash net; always out number oppenent in battles
